Requires funeral directors and crematory authorities to make reasonable efforts to determine if a deceased person submitted for cremation is a veteran, spouse of a veteran, or dependent child of a veteran by contacting state and federal organizations like the Missing in America Project and Department of Veterans Affairs.

Mandates funeral directors and crematory authorities notify the authorizing agent at the time of cremation authorization about their responsibilities under this law and inform them if the deceased qualifies for interment at a veterans' cemetery.

Requires funeral directors and crematory authorities to hold unclaimed cremated remains of veterans or their eligible family members for at least 180 days, then contact the authorizing agent and, if no response within 30 days, contact veterans' organizations to arrange disposition at a state or national veterans' cemetery.

Permits funeral directors and crematory authorities to release relevant information to the Department of Veterans Affairs and veterans organizations to facilitate identification and interment of unclaimed cremated remains.

Provides immunity from criminal and civil liability to funeral directors, crematory authorities, and veterans' organizations acting under this law, except in cases of willful or wanton misconduct.
