Amends Family Court Act Section 153-b to permit orders of protection and temporary orders of protection to be transmitted by facsimile or electronic means for expedited service, with "facsimile transmission" and "electronic means" defined by Civil Practice Law and Rules Rule 2103(f).

Amends Domestic Relations Law Section 240(3-a) to allow courts to transmit orders of protection issued upon default and temporary orders of protection by facsimile or electronic means to peace or police officers designated for service.

Amends Domestic Relations Law Section 252 to require orders of protection and temporary orders of protection issued under that section to be served in accordance with the facsimile and electronic transmission procedures established in Section 240(3-a).

Authorizes the Office of Court Administration to promulgate rules and regulations necessary to implement the facsimile and electronic transmission provisions.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
