Defines "electronic signature" as an electronic sound, symbol, or process attached to or logically associated with an electronic prescription and executed with intent to sign, in accordance with applicable regulations.

Requires electronic prescriptions to include prescriber's electronic signature to validate the prescription, with comparable "dispense as written" (d a w) functionality for electronic prescriptions as specified by regulation.

Permits prescribers to insert electronic directions to dispense drugs as written on electronic prescriptions as an alternative to handwritten "d a w" markings on paper prescriptions.

Clarifies that all statutory and regulatory references to prescriptions, signatures, and writings include electronic prescriptions, electronic signatures, and electronic information entries.
