Authorizes the Village of Maybrook (Orange County) to make the optional twenty year retirement plan under New York Retirement and Social Security Law Section 384-d available to police officer Michael E. Maresca, who missed the initial enrollment deadline through no fault of his own.

Village of Maybrook must file a resolution with the state comptroller by December 31, 2010, certifying that the officer did not bar himself from participation due to negligence.

Police officer Maresca may elect coverage under Section 384-d by filing a request with the state comptroller by June 30, 2011, and becomes entitled to all associated rights and benefits.

Village of Maybrook bears all employer costs, including an estimated $2,540 annual contribution increase for fiscal year ending March 31, 2011, plus an immediate past service cost of approximately $5,100.

Act takes effect immediately upon enactment.
