Two or more counties may enter into written mutual aid agreements to share coroner's office or medical examiner services.

Each county remains liable for the acts or omissions of its own employees or agents under such agreements in the same manner as if the acts occurred within that county.

County employees and agents have the same immunities and privileges when acting under mutual aid agreements as they would have within their home county, though agreements may apportion liability differently between counties.

Third-party claims arising from mutual aid agreements are not affected by this section, and proper venue for such claims may be brought in any county involved in the agreement.

The act takes effect immediately upon passage.
