NY S01434

Prohibits election commissioners and deputy election commissioners from holding any public office, except commissioner of deeds, notary public, community board member within New York City, or school district trustee or officer.

Removes the exceptions that previously allowed election commissioners to hold village officer, city justice, or town justice positions.

Prohibits election commissioners and deputy election commissioners from being the chair of the respective Democratic or Republican Party or committee in their county.

Requires election commissioners or deputy election commissioners to resign before being nominated or designated for any elective office they are not entitled to hold; violations make the nomination or designation null and void.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
