Establishes a 17-member Senior Housing Task Force within the Office for the Aging to assess senior housing needs across New York State

Task Force composition includes representatives from nine state agencies (Office for the Aging, Division of Housing and Community Renewal, Department of Health, Office of Mental Health, Department of Economic Development, Empire State Development Corporation, Office of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities, Division of Protective Services for Adults, and NYC Department for the Aging) plus eight additional members appointed by the Governor on recommendation of legislative leaders and representing housing and senior citizen groups

Task Force shall conduct statewide assessment of senior housing needs by geographic area, considering healthcare needs, long-term care needs, financial resources, transportation needs, and innovative approaches from other states, with projections for the next ten years

Task Force must meet at least four times in different geographical areas of the state and be co-chaired by the Director of the Office for the Aging and the Commissioner of the Division of Housing and Community Renewal

Task Force shall issue a report by January 1, 2012 to the Governor and relevant legislative committees outlining findings, recommendations, and a state plan with time frames for addressing senior housing needs
