Adds Suffolk county probation officers to the list of public employees covered under civil service law dispute resolution procedures through binding arbitration and board assistance.

Excludes disciplinary procedures, investigations, and eligibility or assignment to details and positions for Suffolk county probation officers from the arbitration process, to be governed by other applicable law.

Amends subdivision 2 and 4 of section 209 of the civil service law to include Suffolk county probation officers alongside other law enforcement and public safety personnel eligible for impasse resolution procedures.

Takes effect immediately with provisions subject to expiration dates established in prior law (chapter 485 of the laws of 1990).
