Office of Children and Family Services must collect elder abuse data from state and local agencies including the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Department of Law, Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence, and Department of Health in cooperation with the Office for the Aging

Office shall establish interagency reporting systems with uniform standards to collect and analyze elder abuse data and develop a standardized definition of elder abuse and minimum age threshold for elderly persons

County and city social services agencies, adult protective services units, and protective services for adults units must report elder abuse incidents to the Office in specified format including number of referrals, investigations, substantiated cases, and demographic information on victims and perpetrators

Office shall issue a biennial report to the Governor and legislative leaders by March 1st in even-numbered years with recommendations on defining elder abuse in statute, reporting requirements, and available prevention programs and victim services

Act takes effect January 1st following enactment and expires January 1, 2015
