Expands the definition of acupuncture practice to include recommendation of traditional remedies, supplements, diet, herbs, and natural products in accordance with East Asian or Oriental medical theory.

Requires acupuncturists recommending custom-made remedies or herbal formulations to pass a herbal examination module of a nationally recognized professional organization on or after October 1, 2011.

Increases the State Board for Acupuncture from 11 to 12 members on or after October 1, 2011, with at least 6 licensed acupuncturists, 3 licensed physicians certified in acupuncture, and 3 public members.

Establishes mandatory continuing education requirement of 36 hours per triennial registration period (maximum 18 hours self-study), with a $30 fee, effective October 1, 2011.

Designates acupuncturists as mandatory reporters of suspected child abuse and maltreatment, requiring 2 hours of training on identification and reporting procedures for initial licensure and renewal.
