Nassau County is authorized to convey an easement through Leeds Pond Preserve to the Manhasset-Lakeville water district for constructing and maintaining a transmission water main to extend the public water supply system.

Upon completion of construction, Nassau County must restore the surface of the land, which shall continue to be used for park purposes.

Nassau County must dedicate an amount equal to or greater than the fair market value of the easement to acquiring new parklands and/or funding capital improvements to existing park and recreational facilities.

The conveyance cannot occur until Nassau County complies with federal requirements for parkland alienation or conversion, including obtaining approval from the Secretary of the Interior that substitute lands are equivalent in fair market value and recreational usefulness.

The easement covers approximately 24,849.46 square feet (0.57 acres) of land in Manhasset, Town of North Hempstead, with specific boundary descriptions provided.
