Individual professional fundraisers, solicitors, and fundraising counsel who complete an approved course in fundraising law and ethics are entitled to receive a certificate of ethics course completion from the attorney general

Organizations employing professional fundraisers are entitled to a certificate when 75 percent of employees responsible for hiring, training, or supervising fundraising activities complete an acceptable course of instruction

Charitable organizations required to register are entitled to a certificate when 75 percent of employees responsible for hiring, training, or supervising fundraising activities complete an acceptable course

The attorney general must publish the names of certificate holders annually in public reports and indicate certificate status in the Charities Bureau Registry

Acceptable courses must be approved by the attorney general in consultation with the education department and may be offered by universities, colleges, and professional trade associations through classroom training or distance learning
