Director of the Office for Technology, in conjunction with the Director of Budget, Director of State Operations, and Secretary of State, must conduct a comprehensive study on modernizing state agency information collection, retention, and dissemination practices

Study must address information resource management policies, modernization of collection and retention methods, public information availability, privacy and security measures, and available technology solutions to reduce waste and costs

Report must be submitted to the Governor, Speaker of the Assembly, and Temporary President of the Senate no later than January 1, 2012

Director of the Office for Technology is authorized to request and receive relevant information from state agencies needed to complete the study, subject to the same confidentiality requirements applicable to those agencies

Act takes effect immediately and expires April 1, 2012
