Authorizes the Village of Maybrook in Orange County to allow police officer Michael E. Maresca to participate in the optional twenty-year retirement plan under Section 384-d of the Retirement and Social Security Law, despite previously missing the application deadline through no fault of his own.

Requires the Village of Maybrook to file a board resolution with the state comptroller by December 31, 2010, certifying that the officer's failure to apply timely was not due to his own negligence.

Allows the police officer to elect coverage under Section 384-d by filing a request with the state comptroller on or before June 30, 2011, and entitles him to full associated rights and benefits.

Requires the Village of Maybrook to bear all employer costs, including an estimated annual contribution increase of approximately $2,540 for fiscal year ending March 31, 2011, and an immediate past service cost of approximately $5,100.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
