Amends New York City Administrative Code section 12-126 to extend health insurance coverage to surviving spouses or domestic partners of deceased active or retired Metropolitan Transportation Authority members

Surviving spouses or domestic partners may elect to continue the same health insurance coverage available to retirees and their dependents, including coverage tied to Medicare enrollment under the Social Security Act

Surviving spouses or domestic partners must pay 102 percent of the group rate for coverage, with the additional 2 percent designated to cover administrative costs

Election of coverage must occur within one year of the member's death

Takes effect immediately upon enactment
