Governor authorized to present "Campaign Medal for Service" to New York citizens or former New York citizens who served on active duty in the U.S. Armed Forces (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps, or Coast Guard)

Medal eligible for service during World War II (December 7, 1941 - December 31, 1946), Korean Conflict (June 27, 1950 - January 31, 1955), Vietnam Conflict (February 28, 1961 - May 7, 1975), Persian Gulf Conflict (August 2, 1990 - February 28, 1991), Afghanistan Conflict (September 11, 2001 - end of conflict), or Iraq Conflict (March 20, 2003 - end of conflict)

No more than one medal issued per person; recipients must have served honorably; multiple medals result in ribbon awards selected by Division of Military and Naval Affairs

Medal presented to designated representative if recipient dies before or after receiving it; Chief of Staff empowered to create rules and regulations for presentation and distribution

Act takes effect 120 days after becoming law; Division of Military and Naval Affairs authorized to promulgate rules and regulations prior to effective date
