Authorizes courts to obtain and consider criminal history records, sex offender registry reports, child abuse and maltreatment reports, orders of protection, and family court proceedings information when appointing or revoking guardians under Mental Hygiene Law Article 81.

Requires courts to obtain fingerprints and direct the Division of Criminal Justice Services to provide criminal history records and submit fingerprints to the FBI for nationwide background checks on proposed guardians and household members age 18 or older.

Mandates courts obtain and consider specified records and reports between executing the order to show cause and the hearing date, or as soon as a guardian is proposed during guardianship proceedings.

Requires courts to provide subjects of criminal history requests with a copy of their record a reasonable time before consideration and inform them of their right to seek corrections.

Takes effect 180 days after becoming law.
