District attorneys may employ or contract with licensed professionals authorized under Education Law Articles 153, 154, or 163 to provide services to crime victims, witnesses, and other criminal justice system participants and to support crime prevention programs.

District attorneys may also contract with entities authorized to provide the services specified in those Education Law articles, provided the services fall within the district attorney's authorization.

The act takes effect immediately upon enactment.

Experience obtained in a district attorney's office providing authorized services may be credited toward licensure experience requirements under Education Law Articles 153, 154, or 163, even if the experience was gained prior to this act's effective date.
