State Police Superintendent, in conjunction with the Division of Criminal Justice Services, shall develop and distribute uniform identification cards to all sworn members of the State Police upon retirement in good standing.

Identification cards must contain the individual's name, description as a retired sworn member, a digitized photograph from the Department of Motor Vehicles, the New York State seal, and any other information the Superintendent deems appropriate.

"Retirement in good standing" is defined as retirement for reasons other than avoidance of disciplinary charges that would have resulted in dismissal for cause.

Superintendent shall promulgate rules and regulations to obtain necessary information, ensure recent photographs, establish programs to improve law enforcement security, and comply with applicable federal laws and standards.

Act takes effect on the sixtieth day after becoming law.
