Reinstate expired work permits previously approved by the Department of Buildings for properties in Breezy Point, Queens (blocks 16350 lots 400 and 300, and block 16340 lot 50) that expired due to Hurricane Sandy, allowing reconstruction based on originally approved plans with new code compliance.

Waive sections 35 and 36 requirements of general city law for 12 months, eliminating the need for homeowners to seek Board of Standards and Appeals approval or undergo hearing processes to rebuild or repair Hurricane Sandy-damaged residences.

Eliminate the requirement for letters of no objection from the board before issuance of new work permits for reinstatement cases.

Apply the waiver to applications for new buildings and Alt-1 and Alt-2 alterations caused by Hurricane Sandy destruction.

Expire and be repealed 1 year after the effective date.
