State agencies, boards, and commissions that collect demographic data on ancestry or ethnic origin must use separate collection categories and tabulations for sexual orientation and gender identity or expression

Defines "gender identity or expression" as having or being perceived as having a gender identity, self-image, appearance, behavior or expression that may differ from the sex assigned at birth

Collected data must be included in all demographic reports on ancestry or ethnic origins published or released on or after July 1, 2015

Data shall be posted on agency internet websites by July 1, 2015 and annually thereafter, with personal identifying information kept confidential and other data released in accordance with state and federal law

Act takes effect 120 days after becoming law
