Establishes a performance of duty disability retirement allowance for probation officers employed by the Suffolk County Department of Probation who become physically or mentally incapacitated from injuries sustained in the performance of their duties

Disability retirement allowance equals one-half of the employee's final average salary

Amends both section 63-g and section 607-i of the Retirement and Social Security Law to apply this benefit

Estimated annual cost to Suffolk County of approximately $218,000 for fiscal year 2015, plus a one-time past service cost of approximately $1.0 million due February 1, 2015

Affects approximately 214 probation officers with combined annual salary of approximately $18.8 million as of March 31, 2014
