Reduces the retention period for lists of registered voters with computer-generated facsimile signatures from four calendar years to two calendar years after the election year.

Requires all petitions, certificates, objections, registers, books, statements, returns, and related papers filed before or after elections to be preserved for at least two years after receipt.

Exempts voted, unused, protested, void, or wholly blank ballots from the two-year retention requirement.

Mandates that original statements of results from state, county, or city boards of canvassers and records identifying elected officials must be preserved indefinitely and cannot be destroyed or sold.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
