Allows active volunteer firefighters to receive coverage under the Volunteer Firefighters' Benefit Law when providing services without a jurisdictional officer in command present, provided their fire company or municipality adopts a resolution granting such coverage.

Upon arrival of a jurisdictional officer in command, volunteer firefighters transition to standard benefits under existing law.

Extends coverage to volunteer ambulance workers performing emergency health care duties in areas outside their own jurisdiction prior to arrival of the responsible ambulance department or company, if their municipality or ambulance entity adopts a resolution authorizing such coverage.

Volunteer ambulance workers transition to standard benefits once the responsible ambulance department or company arrives in the area.

Takes effect 180 days after enactment.
