Authorizes the town boards of Middletown and Hardenburgh in Delaware County to extend the Middletown-Hardenburgh fire district boundary to include the village of Margaretville upon abolishment of the village's fire department.

Extends fire protection services to the village of Margaretville under the governance and provisions of section 184 of the town law.

Preserves the corporate existence of the Margaretville Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. and allows it to maintain apparatus and facilities within the village while placing it under control of the towns of Hardenburgh and Middletown rather than village authorities.

Requires the towns, village, and fire district to use existing procedures under section 170 of the town law to adopt resolutions for extending the fire district boundary.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
