Amends Town Law Section 20 to allow the Town Board of Wallkill, Orange County to adopt a resolution establishing three town justices instead of the current number.

Requires the town board to adopt the resolution at least 60 days before a regular or special election and subjects it to a permissive referendum under Article Seven of Town Law.

The resolution takes effect if no referendum petition is filed within the specified timeframe or if a majority of voters approve it.

Authorizes town electors to elect a third town justice at the next general election following approval, with a four-year term beginning January 1st.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
