Certificates of insurance or other proof of workers' compensation coverage must identify by name any executive officers, partners, members, or sole proprietors who are not covered by the policy.

Insurers must verify current workers' compensation coverage upon request and provide verification through electronic internet access, email, or regular mail within five business days.

Insurers must report to the Workers' Compensation Board the names of any owners or principals not covered by policies so the information can be searched on a secure Workers' Compensation Board website.

The Insurance Superintendent may impose penalties of up to $1,000 per instance against any insurer that fails to provide required coverage information or reporting.

The act takes effect 90 days after becoming law.
