Expands the definition of "employee" under workers' compensation law to include professional musicians and persons engaged in performing arts who perform for television, radio stations, networks, film productions, theaters, hotels, restaurants, and night clubs.

Excludes from coverage those with written contracts stipulating they are employees of another covered employer, or executive officers of corporations who are deemed excluded from coverage under specified sections.

Defines "engaged in the performing arts" as performing services in connection with production or performance in any artistic endeavor requiring artistic or technical skill or expertise.

Applies exclusively to workers' compensation purposes and does not affect the definition of employee under any other provision or statute.

Takes effect immediately and applies to all pending cases, matters, or proceedings not yet finally adjudicated, as well as cases commenced on or after the effective date.
