Adds a new bankruptcy exemption to New York's Debtor and Creditor Law for a debtor's interest in a residential rent regulated tenancy that the debtor holds and occupies.

Exemption applies to units regulated under the Rent Stabilization Law of 1969, Emergency Tenant Protection Act of 1974, Emergency Housing Rent Control Law, Limited-Profit Housing Companies Act, or City Rent and Rehabilitation Law.

Effective immediately and applies to satisfaction of judgments on or after the effective date.
