Grants retroactive Tier IV membership status in the New York State and Local Employees' Retirement System to four Village of Green Island employees (Jill Alix, Chris Karwiel, Jessica Strizzi, and Taryn Ward) who filed applications that were not processed due to administrative error.

Each employee must file an application with the state comptroller by December 31, 2014 to receive the retroactive membership status with an effective date matching their original employment date (between 2002 and 2008).

Grantees become eligible for all rights and benefits of Tier IV membership and shall not have their contributions returned to them.

The Village of Green Island must bear all past service costs, estimated at approximately $6,550 as a one-time payment, plus approximately $4,800 in increased annual contributions for fiscal year 2015; the State of New York must contribute approximately $2,800 annually for Taryn Ward.

The act takes effect immediately upon enactment.
