Amends Town Law Section 176, Subdivision 11-b to allow the Caton Fire District to hold nomination meetings for fire chief and assistant chief positions on the second Tuesday in December instead of April.

Permits the fire department members to adopt a resolution recommending the December meeting date change, and authorizes the board of fire commissioners to adopt a rule or regulation implementing the new schedule.

Maintains existing provisions allowing fire department members to revert back to April nomination meetings through a subsequent resolution if desired.

Preserves all other eligibility requirements, including that nominees must be fire department members and state residents, and that persons convicted of arson are ineligible for these positions.
