Adds subdivision 2-m to Correction Law Section 500-a to authorize the Jefferson County Correctional Facility to be used for detention of persons under arrest awaiting arraignment in any Jefferson County court.

Adds subdivision 19 to Correction Law Section 500-c to allow the Sheriff to hold persons under arrest for arraignment in the Jefferson County Correctional Facility, applying the same provisions as if they were judicially committed.

Takes effect immediately, except the amendment to Section 500-c will be subject to repeal under Section 12 of Chapter 907 of the Laws of 1984.
