Community councils must establish a Safety Hazard Advisory Review Committee from among their members to review conditions along student routes to and from school

The committee reviews conditions upon request from parents who have submitted variance requests to the Office of Pupil Transportation based on hazardous or unsafe conditions

The committee makes written findings and recommendations that are submitted to the community council, which may adopt them or request additional information before sending to the parent and Office of Pupil Transportation

The committee may also review unsafe conditions upon request from community council members or school administrators, with findings submitted to the requesting party and the Office of Pupil Transportation

The act takes effect July 1st following enactment
