Commissioner of the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities must adopt rules requiring all employees and volunteers at licensed, certified, or operated providers to complete a standardized training curriculum

Curriculum must include abuse, neglect and maltreatment indication and prevention; relevant laws and regulations; identification and safety procedures; fire safety; first aid; cardiopulmonary resuscitation; and cultural competence

Commissioner shall conduct a literature review of reports, studies, and training models for direct care workers before developing the curriculum

Training format may include live classroom, teleconferences, video conferences, satellite transmissions, interactive video, online courses, or other interactive formats approved by the commissioner, but excludes self-study or correspondence work
