Commissioner of education must create a reporting procedure for school districts to report compliance with physical education instruction requirements in elementary grades, including facility adequacy, staffing, class time allocation, and regulatory violations.

School districts must report specific data on schools lacking adequate PE facilities, spaces not used for PE instruction, student capacity versus enrollment, schools without certified PE teachers, and schools not providing required PE class time.

Superintendents of districts with non-compliant schools must prepare a corrective action plan approved by the board of education at a public meeting and implement it the following school year when practicable.

Commissioner must report findings to the governor, legislature, and education committees by July 1, 2017, including analysis of reported data and recommendations to ensure all public schools comply with PE requirements.

School districts failing to comply with reporting requirements shall be listed on the department's website.
