Eliminates "sex offender requiring strict and intensive supervision" as an alternative disposition, leaving only "dangerous sex offender requiring confinement" for civil management of sex offenders with mental abnormalities.

Removes provisions allowing courts to order strict and intensive outpatient supervision and treatment as an alternative to civil commitment for sex offenders.

Repeals section 10.11 of the Mental Hygiene Law, which governed the regimen of strict and intensive supervision and treatment.

Modifies court procedures so that if a sex offender is not found to be a dangerous sex offender requiring confinement, the court must find they no longer suffer from a mental abnormality rather than imposing intensive supervision conditions.

Takes effect thirty days after becoming law.
