Authorizes Thomas Malley, who has been continuously employed as a part-time police officer by the village of Fort Plain in Montgomery County, to take the competitive civil service examination for full-time police officer positions.

Places Thomas Malley on the eligible list for appointment as a full-time police officer for the village of Fort Plain contingent upon his examination score.

Exempts Thomas Malley from section 58 of the civil service law and other applicable eligibility requirements that would normally prevent this appointment pathway.

Subjects Thomas Malley to all other merit and fitness provisions of the civil service law applicable to full-time police officers.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
