Allows fire department members to adopt a resolution recommending that nomination meetings for fire chief and assistant chiefs be held in December instead of April, with specific date options (first or second Thursday/Saturday, or the Thursday/Saturday following the first/second Tuesday).

Permits the board of fire commissioners to adopt rules providing for December nomination meetings based on the fire department's resolution, using the same date options specified above.

Provides exceptions allowing Davis Park fire department to hold nomination meetings on the last Sunday in September and Caton fire district to hold them on the second Tuesday in December.

Requires that any nominee for chief or assistant chief be a member of the fire department (removes previous requirement that nominees also be state residents).

Requires that notice of meetings must specify that a resolution regarding the meeting date will be voted upon.
