Adds new section 5-303 to General Obligations Law requiring consumer and employment contracts to be written in plain language that a reasonable consumer or employee would understand.

Requires that all material terms of consumer contracts be contained in a single document rather than spread across multiple documents.

Allows consumers or employees to seek court orders reforming non-conforming contracts, with courts able to exclude terms not written in plain English or found in separate documents.

Applies requirements to consumer contracts and employment contracts that fail to meet plain language standards or contain scattered material terms.

Takes effect 180 days after the bill becomes law.
