Public Service Commission must issue an order within 365 days governing cost-sharing for interconnection of two or more distributed generation resources that share the same dedicated equipment like cables, wires, transformers, and substations.

Covers distributed generation resources including solar, wind, fuel cells, and other energy-generating equipment defined in Public Service Law sections 66-j and 66-l, as well as community net-metering equipment.

Order must provide cost-sharing payment mechanisms for applicants utilizing existing equipment previously paid for by other customer-generators, including scenarios where multiple applicants interconnect simultaneously or equipment is upgraded.

Requires the Public Service Commission to establish a process notifying applicants of cost-sharing payment obligations and provide community net-metering subscribers proportional refunds against subscription costs for equipment they previously funded.

Commission must consult with the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority and solicit input from renewable energy advocates and electric corporations when developing the order.
