Amends Public Health Law Section 281 to allow pharmacies that receive electronic prescriptions to immediately transfer them to an alternative pharmacy if the prescription has not been dispensed and the patient or authorized representative requests the transfer.

Amends Education Law Section 6810 with identical provisions allowing pharmacies to electronically forward undispensed prescriptions to alternative pharmacies upon patient request.

Applies to prescriptions received electronically from the person issuing the prescription, requiring patient consent or authorization before any transfer occurs.

Takes effect ninety days after becoming law.
