Allows flashing purple lights to be affixed to and displayed on buses operating on bus rapid transit routes in cities with a population of one million or more

Purple lights may be used exclusively by authorized bus drivers on designated bus rapid transit routes

Prohibits use of flashing purple lights on bus rapid transit routes where fares are paid upon boarding

Defines "bus rapid transit route" to include routes designated by the New York City Department of Transportation and applicable mass transit agencies, including those specified in section 1111-C of the Vehicle and Traffic Law

Takes effect immediately upon enactment
