Division of state police health authorities or appointed physicians may conduct medical examinations and treatment; liability for salary and medical expenses ends upon certification that the member has recovered and can perform regular duties.

Members who refuse authorized medical treatment, hospital care, or medical inspections waive their rights to expense reimbursement and salary continuation for the period after refusal.

Full salary payments discontinue if a member receives an accidental disability retirement allowance or similar pension, or if they refuse available light duty assignments that match their state police status and maintain regular salary and benefits.

Division of state police may seek reimbursement from third parties for salary, wages, and medical expenses paid when the injured member has a cause of action against those responsible for the injury or illness.
