Members of the United States Army 10th Mountain Division residing in New York may request distinctive license plates bearing the 10th Mountain Division insignia and text identifying them as members, subject to annual verification of military status.

Any New York resident may request distinctive license plates bearing the 10th Mountain Division insignia with text identifying them as supporters of the division, verified annually by the applicant.

Distinctive plates are issued upon payment of regular registration fees plus an additional $20 annual service charge.

Annual service charges are deposited to the Department of Motor Vehicles Distinctive Plate Development Fund; any charges collected over $2,500 annually are paid to the 10th Mountain Division Foundation for their scholarship program.

The act takes effect immediately upon enactment.
