Removes the requirement that the Commissioner of Education determine on a case-by-case basis whether earnings limitations apply to retired police officers employed by school districts as school resource officers.

Expands the earnings limitation exemption to include retired police officers employed as school safety officers, school security officers, or substantially similar positions designed to provide safety and security on school grounds.

Requires that retired police officers employed in these positions be duly qualified, competent, physically fit for the duties as determined by the school district, and properly certified where required.

Allows retired police officers to be employed in either classified or unclassified service positions within school districts without earnings limitations.

Takes effect immediately upon enactment.
