Amends Public Health Law Section 2960 to authorize attending nurse practitioners, in addition to attending physicians, to issue orders not to attempt cardiopulmonary resuscitation when appropriate consent has been obtained.

Adds "attending nurse practitioner" as a defined term in Public Health Law Section 2961, establishing that nurse practitioners selected or assigned to a patient with primary responsibility for treatment and care may act as the attending nurse practitioner.

Permits multiple physicians and/or nurse practitioners who share responsibility for a patient's care to act as the attending physician or attending nurse practitioner under the relevant statute.

Applies the same authority and requirements for do-not-resuscitate orders to both physicians and nurse practitioners in New York hospitals.
