Amends town law section 176, subdivision 11-b to allow fire departments to adopt resolutions scheduling chief and assistant chief nomination meetings in December instead of April.

Permits nomination meetings to be held on the first Thursday, first Saturday, Thursday following the first Tuesday, Saturday following the first Tuesday, Thursday following the second Tuesday, or Saturday following the second Tuesday in December.

Allows Davis Park fire department to schedule nomination meetings on the last Sunday in September and Caton fire district to schedule them on the second Tuesday in December.

Enables fire district boards of commissioners to adopt rules and regulations implementing the December meeting schedule as specified in the fire department resolution.

Removes the requirement that fire department chief and assistant chief nominees be residents of the state of New York.
