Commissioner of Education shall provide additional reimbursement to school nutrition programs based on the percentage of New York farm products purchased in each school year.

Schools purchasing New York farm products for at least 10 percent of food purchases receive an additional 5 cents per meal reimbursement.

Schools purchasing New York farm products for at least 15 percent of food purchases receive an additional 10 cents per meal reimbursement.

Schools purchasing New York farm products for at least 20 percent of food purchases receive an additional 25 cents per meal reimbursement.

Commissioner shall provide schools with an approved vendor list, and schools must verify and submit their New York farm product purchase percentages to the department according to the reimbursement schedule before receiving reimbursement.
