Town of Islip is authorized to discontinue and sell approximately 1.2 acres of parkland, with terms and conditions determined by the town board.

Town must dedicate replacement parkland of 1.28 acres for public park purposes as a condition of the authorization.

If replacement parkland has lesser fair market value than the land being sold, the town must dedicate the difference in value toward acquiring additional parklands or funding capital improvements to existing parks.

Discontinuance cannot occur if the parkland received federal land and water conservation fund financing until the town complies with federal requirements and obtains secretary of the interior approval.

Act takes effect immediately upon enactment.
