Department of Health, in conjunction with the Office for the Aging, Department of Social Services, and State Police, shall develop and maintain a list of businesses and entities offering locator technology for individuals with Alzheimer's disease or dementia who become lost or disoriented.

Businesses and entities may voluntarily register with the department to be included on the list.

Department shall notify all licensed physicians in New York of the list's existence and make it publicly available through the department's website and connected websites of other state offices.

"Locator technology" includes radio wrist transmitter tracking systems, software programs, databases, and identifying products such as necklaces or bracelets designed to locate and identify lost or disoriented persons.

Department of Health commissioner authorized to promulgate rules and regulations necessary to implement the provision, with the act taking effect on January 1 following enactment.
